The Department of the Lithuanian Language of the Faculty of Philology at Vilnius University and the Research Centre of Standard Language at the Institute of the Lithuanian Language invite you to participate in The 29th Jonas Jablonskis’ conference “Spoken and written language: Synchrony and diachrony”. The conference will take place at Vilnius University, Lithuania, on September 26–27, 2024.


CONFERENCE LANGUAGES: English, Lithuanian.


CONFERENCE TOPICS:

  • The relationship between spoken and standard Languages
  • Lithuanian diatopic variations
  • Old Lithuanian writings
  • Sociolinguistics
  • Cognitive linguistics
  • Interdisciplinarity
  • Other issues

Submissions are invited for the one the following:

  • full paper presentations: 30 minutes (20 minutes + 10 minutes for questions);
  • poster presentations.

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Deadline for the submission of abstracts (full papers and posters): 1 May 2024.
  • Notification of acceptance: 1 June 2024.
  • Early-bird registration:  31 July 2024.
  • Closing registration date: 31 August 2024.

Submission of proposals


REGISTRATION AND FEES:

  • Regular registration for presenters: 80 euros.
  • Early-bird registration for presenters: 70 euros.
  • Doctoral / MA students: 60 euros.
  • Early-bird registration for doctoral / MA students: 50 euros.
  • Non-presenting participants who wish to obtain a certificate: 10 euros.

COVID-19 INFORMATION: The conference is scheduled live, but the organizers reserve the right to move it online as the pandemic changes. The fee for a remote conference would be lower.
